Who We Are


Membio is building a communications engine in the residential real estate vertical. We help associations and multiple listing services engage and delight their members by enabling them to send the right message at the right time to the right people. 


We're a start-up in that we're pivoting our business from being a marketing firm to a SaaS provider — so that means we're five years young, profitable and have an enviable client base in our vertical. We're fanatical about building phenomenal products for clients we adore.


We're looking for a development engineer to join our team of U.S. based developers, creatives and marketing experts.


Responsibilities 
Support CTO in developing Membio platform, to include bug fixes, minor platform upgrades, customer support and documentation. Test and debug code. Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation.



Knowledge Of



  • PHP (a grand master)

  • HTML & CSS/SCSS (of course)

  • Javascript (a wizard)

    • JQuery, Backbone, React, and ES6



  • Node JS (using your Javascript Wizardry) a plus

    • Express, HapiJs or other Node Frameworks

    • Amazon Lambda, Google Cloud Functions (nice to have)



  • MySQL and really just SQL in general

  • WordPress Development

    • Must understand theme development



  • Windows or Linux Servers (preferably some working knowledge in using both)


Experienced In



  • Developing and maintaining web applications written in PHP/NodeJS/HTML/CSS/JavaScript 

  • Database and query design

  • Turning Photoshop designs into pixel-perfect applications

  • Unit testing & Test-Driven Development

  • Version control systems (GIT)

  • Writing and documenting code other developers will dig working with.

  • Having nice conversations with important customers.


Must



  • Be friendly and fun to work with.

  • Be a self-starter who understands deadlines

  • Be willing to learn new technologies. All the time.

  • Work well independently and in a team environment, as well as with remote staff (all U.S. based)



Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.



Location and Compensation


This position is located in Lake Oswego, OR, though you may work remotely the majority of the time. Relocation benefits will not be provided if you choose to move to Portland. Salary determined on employment. Compensation includes base salary, healthcare (medical, vision, dental) and stock options.
