Where do you fit?


SugarCRM’s Developer Advocacy organization supports and grows our community of Sugar Developers who build integrations and applications using Sugar. You would be a passionate advocate for Sugar technology as well as a vocal champion for developer interests within SugarCRM. This is a position for engineers who love connecting with developers, building tools to help them, and sharing experience and knowledge about the best ways to build software.


Impact you will make in the role:



  • Be a developer up to 50% of the time - Develop, test, release, and maintain tools and custom code examples for Sugar Developers.

  • Create engaging Sugar Developer content (Blog, Developer Guide, Community, Twitter, Newsletters, etc.)

  • Be the developer community’s point of view inside of SugarCRM.

  • Take technical notes from the engineering team and turn them into understandable content

  • Build connections and collaborate with people across departments at SugarCRM

  • Drive open source projects in a transparent way and fostering collaboration inside and outside the company

  • Jump in and learn to code customizations to our new developer platform

  • Empathize with external developers and bring their feedback back to the product team

  • Foster our developer community both in person and online

  • Present and evangelize our products in the user community through presentations, hackathons, webinars, forums, blogs, etc.


Expertise you will bring in:



  • BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of software development experience - PHP, JavaScript, or Professional Services experience preferred.

  • Clear understanding of the software development best practices.

  • Insatiable curiosity with a need to understand the big picture

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the desire to share technical knowledge and information with others

  • Strong time management, prioritization, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

  • Passion for building communities

  • Self-driven and able to work independently.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time


Location:  Raleigh, NC, or Remote - U.S.
