Untangle is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team. This is a great role for a versatile full stack developer capable of working on multiple platforms and technology stacks. In this position, you will be an integral part of the development of web services and cloud infrastructure to support our product back-end and web console. This will include account and device management, data intelligence services, e-commerce and licensing systems, and integration with 3rd party systems and services. You will get the opportunity to work with our global team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our platform. Our people are doers and we make it happen!

 What You'll Do:

• Design and develop new features for Untangle's product portfolio


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and develop new features and enhancements


• Troubleshoot defects and perform root cause analysis


• Fix bugs and improve system performance


• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability


• Drive discovery and evaluation of new technologies to maximize development efficiency and performance


• Provide assistance to QA in creating continuous integration test plans and systems

What You'll Need:

• Working knowledge of one or more of the following technologies: PHP, Java, C#


• Front-end development experience (i.e. HTML, JavaScript, CSS)


• Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, Mongo, etc)


• Cross platform web services development experience (REST, JSON, SOAP)


• Experience in developing systems for high reliability and scalability


• Solid Dev Ops skills including system deployment and configuration


• Intrinsic drive towards KISS and DRY principles

It'll Be Great If You Have:

• Experience with Amazon Web Services


• Experience withExtJS


• Understanding of network management and security

Your Wheelhouse Must Include:

• Passion and aptitude for learning


• Ability to work in an agile environment with limited requirements


• Ability to handle multiple scheduled and unscheduled deliverables


• Ability to work with limited supervision with a globally-distributed team


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• BS or above degree in computer science or related field
