Classy is building tools to allow the world's most passionate nonprofits to fulfill their mission and empower change. You'll be joining engineers who are creating APIs and services that power the most sophisticated fundraising platform for nonprofits.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for engineers to help us continue pushing the envelope and build software that matters.

As a Platform Engineer at Classy youll be responsible for building scalable, secure APIs and microservices, data modeling and database development, and creating SDKs and developer tools. You'll be challenged to write clean, well-tested code and contribute as part of a team in thorough code review and peer programming.

Some things youll commonly do:

• Create APIs and services with application frameworks.
• Work with Platform Team to design scalable services architecture.
• Hone your DevOps chops through exposure to how we utilize AWS and cloud infrastructure.
• Develop database schema and solutions with relational and non-relational models.

ABOUT YOU

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years in server-side development (PHP or Node.js a plus)
• Experience in the design and development of RESTful APIs
• Understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, SAML and other authentication/authorization standards
• Proficiency in SQL and query writing and optimization
• Understanding of schema design in relational or NoSQL databases (Mysql, MongoDB)
• An interest in the nonprofit sector or desire to improve the lives of others through code
