PHP / Drupal Developer is needed in San Diego, CA with a digital ad agency for a 3-6 month RIGHT TO HIRE opportunity.


Responsibilties:

    • Responsible for improving the style, modularity, performance, and reusability of produced source code
    • Responsible for developing innovative, scalable, and efficient software
    • Integrates HTML comps into web-based applications
    • Meets with clients or prospective clients to provide input
    • Maintains existing software and projects
    • Provide solutions or alternatives to tough problems
    • Able to work independently but understands when to involve others and when to ask for senior support
    • Bring an understanding of fiscal responsibility, both to the agency and our clients
    • Play a part in planning releases with the goal of having little-to-zero end-user impact
    • Analyzes a projects business requirements in order to help develop technical requirements
    • Provides reasonable price and timeline estimates for tasks/projects


·Required

    • 5+ years experience building and maintaining websites
    • PHP, PHP-based applications, and migrating from 5.x to 7.2
    • Experience with Drupal 8
    • Responsible for custom Drupal module development using best practices with Drupal APIs and hooks, and modern PHP development practices
    • Proficient in manipulating Drupals theme layer through Drupal theme API and hooks
    • Knowledge of and 5+ years experience with MySQL or other SQL based databases with the ability to write and understand complex queries for normalized databases
    • Knowledge of and experience with Linux based operating systems and Bash command line
    • Knowledge of configurations for caching applications such as Varnish, Memcache and Redis
    • Knowledge of configurations for Apache and Nginx webserver applications

·         Desired Skills

    • Knowledge of and experience building and maintaining cross-browser HTML and CSS
    • Familiarity with testing frameworks such as PHPUnit
    • Expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, RDS, ELB, S3
    • Expertise in developing REST APIs
    • Experience deploying Node.js applications
