Are you a full stack web developer interested in working in a fun and fast-paced Startup? Our client is looking for the right tech rockstar to create great web eCommerce experiences. They are looking for someone to jump in and hit the ground running, but also interested in helping them evolve our platform and learn new technologies.
The Web Developer is an important technical resource to help us create great eCommerce experiences. We use Magento (1 and 2), PHP, MySQL, Nginx, Docker, and Git (hosted on BitBucket) to create and deploy eCommerce sites quickly. We are looking for a full stack developer who is an expert with browser technology, but also has experience on the back end. This role will work closely with project management to create and update eCommerce sites for big brands, and with engineering management to evolve the platform and learn new skills. We have a low politics, low meetings, get it done environment.
We dont believe in working our developers to death. We work closely as a team, and we love great ideas and input from all team members. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to pitch in and get stuff done, but also be looking at the overall platform and implement improvements to make it better. Theyll be happy to dig in and troubleshoot a difficult problem, pause to estimate new work, and also be interested in learning new ways of doing things.
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design, project and product teams to launch great eCommerce experiences
• Develop new functionality, plugins, and bug fixes to revamp the customer experience on our sites
• Break down and estimate projects, features and bug fixes. Propose alternatives that save development but still accomplish goals
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
• Help ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the sites
• Identify bottlenecks and defects, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
• Help maintain quality, organization, and automation of the platforms code and data
• Learn new technologies and skills. Suggest and implement new technologies to create better sites
• Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of professional experience
• 2+ years of front end web development. HTML, CSS, JS, and Bootstrap. Experience with a CSS preprocessing language like SASS or less is desired. Experience with browser frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue is desired.
• 1+ years of PHP experience. Experience with frameworks such as Symphony or Zend is desired. Experience with other back end languages such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Java.
• 1+ years of Git source control experience.
• 1+ years of SQL experience. Preferably MySQL.
• Experience with Magento, or familiarity with eCommerce is highly desired.
• Experience with automating web browser testing with Selenium or other tools is highly desired.
• Strong debugging and problems solving skills - ability to identify, research and resolve
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Experience working on a multi-developer team is important.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills - able to concisely summarize and present basic requirements, status, risks and issues for existing projects
• Ability to multitask and quickly change focus between clients and projects
• Demonstrated success in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
• Excellent attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and quality
