Here at Datalot, a leading provider of mobile and web marketing solutions for the insurance industry, we are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Brooklyn (NY) team. You will play a key role to shape and build the next level of our proprietary product platform, focused on the ultimate matching of consumers to clients. We have an ambitious and exciting roadmap for this product that will utilize many different areas of modern tech, including a sophisticated conversational interface, advanced product discovery, and comparative shopping. (Just think Kayak for the Insurance industry.)

What you will be working on

• Spearhead opportunities for innovation, improvement or introduction of new tech




• Strategize, scope and implement enhancements to existing customer acquisition platform 




• Work with Infrastructure Engineers to ensure resources are adequate for the current demands and scalable enough for aggressive growth




• Work closely with a Product Manager to ensure business requirements are clearly defined

What were looking for

• 5+ years of professional experience, with proven leadership ability




• Solid hands-on experience with any or all: Python, Javascript, PHP,  MySQL




• Experience scaling web applications




• A dedication to building with performance and efficiency in mind




• Interest in solving business problems as well as software development




• Interest in applying AI/machine learning to real-world business problems




• Bonus points: Linux; AWS services, infrastructure automation; experience working with click platforms or comparative shopping engines




• Personal Attributes: analytical thinker; strong organizational skills; great problem-solver; attention to detail; entrepreneurial mindset; ability to effectively multi-task; ability to take ownership for your work and calculate risks when needed
