Experienced Software Project Manager

dotstudioPRO is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our development team. We are an entertainment technology company focused on delivering monetization and distribution tools to the entertainment industry. We are looking for forward thinking and passionate people that not only bring great management and technical skills, but be a voice on the team. At dotstudioPRO, you will be working with developers who are creating cutting-edge applications for the global media industry.

You will also be involved in all aspects of the development lifecycle: idea, design, documentation, implementation, delivery, and maintenance. We expect that you communicate and write in a clear and effective manner and work well in an Agile software development environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage software and application project teams using Agile SCRUM practices who use Java/JavaScript, NodeJS, AngularJS, Less and SaaS, HTML5/CSS 3 (web UI development), WordPress, Mongo DB, Redis.io, PHP (MVC, OOP), MYSQL, Laravel and GIT.

Manage cross-functional project teams including: software developers, iOS/Android/AppleTV/Roku/FireTV developers, software testers, technical writers, and Big Data engineers/consultants.

Work with the team to scope projects and create a project plan (schedule and budget) and monitor progress against the plan.

Manage and oversee all project-related technical complexities and risks.

Establish and maintain a thorough understanding of the product development lifecycle process and related tools. Use this understanding to complete project management related accomplishments and to ensure other team members follow the process and complete their deliverables.

Communicate project status to management and other stakeholders via presentations and project tracking tools.

Facilitate the resolution of project issues and help remove obstacles that impede progress.

Testing developer builds for various devices and working with the team to track and resolve issues.

Experience:

Experience managing cross-functional software development projects (2+ years).

Experience/knowledge of Agile software development processes e.g. SCRUM (2+ years).

Good communication & presentation skills.

Good team building skills - creating a sense of team driven by common goals, motivation, facilitation, conflict resolution.

Ability to set & track project budgets, schedules, deliverables, etc.

Comfortable managing with uncertainty.

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

A background in video or cross platform video delivery is highly beneficial.

Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Project Management (APM), and/or SCRUM Master certification is an Asset but not required.

Working knowledge developing cross platform/browser compatible dynamic web, video and mobile web applications is an asset but not required.

Traits of our desired candidate:

Familiarity with online video streaming platforms. Is passionate about workflow and technology, and is always looking to further their personal knowledge and expertise. Is comfortable executing against tasks that are occasionally ambiguous, but works independently to seek out needed information. Experience and knowledge in Web development and production. Enjoys providing good customer service

Education:

Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, diverse work experience in IT, or the equivalent in education and work experience in project management in the software industry.

Note: This position is a remote position and is not a Contractor position but a full-time position with the company.
