Antimicrobial Therapy, Inc. is a family-owned and operated medical information company, and we’re looking for a personable and professional Software Engineer to work on-site in Sperryville, Virginia. Your work here will directly aid in the ability to provide clinical decision support information and tools to over a million prescribers and pharmacists worldwide!


We’re expanding our software engineering team to meet the demands of our company’s continued expansion into the Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) sector. We are looking for a Software Engineer who will be a part of our full software life cycle, from concept through deployment, for each of our software systems. Our newest Software Engineer is someone who wants to be an integral part of a small, agile, and interdisciplinary group. We love team players, and work closely together to constantly improve and grow as we further cultivate our expanding product line. This is a full-time, salaried position based at our office in Sperryville, Virginia.


Your primary duties will include:



  • Developing software solutions in PHP

  • Designing and developing solutions utilizing object oriented design patterns and the model-view-controller (MVC) architectural pattern

  • Soliciting requirements from stakeholders, and designing and implementing solutions to satisfy those requirements

  • Collaborating with software development team to improve design proposals and perform code reviews

  • Writing and conducting test plans


Skills & Requirements


We consider the following to be required qualifications of our newest Software Engineer:



  • B.S. in Computer Science (or similar)

  • Strongly proficient in PHP and at least one of the following languages: Java, Python, Objective-C, Swift, or C#

  • Comfortable with object-oriented design patterns

  • Strong fluency in English (written and verbal)

  • Team player

  • Willingness and desire to learn new technologies

  • Self-motivated go-getter who requires little to no supervision

  • Excellent communicator

  • Sense of humor


We consider the following to be desired qualifications of our newest Software Engineer (if you don't have any of these but are otherwise a good fit, no worries):



  • Experience working on or with Electronic Health Records, Clinical Decision Support, or other Healthcare Information Technology arenas

  • Ability to explain technical processes to both experts and laypeople

  • Experience working with Plone CMS

  • Apache Web Server Administration

  • Willingness to assist with company needs as appropriate

  • Desire to have a stable position in a fun work environment

  • Has a love of fresh air, being close to mountains, and low-traffic commutes
