JOB GOAL:
The Web Developer at Central Office actively supports the strategic goals of Harmony Public Schools by helping to create a clear and positive image of the schools in the minds of our stakeholders.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Degree in Computer Science is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in the job.
Strong background in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, Wordpress, git, and grunt.
Experience with data-driven SEO analysis and optimization.
Experience using REST APIs and JSON, WP Multisite, custom WP plugins, Cloud server, and Linux (Preferred)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement front-end web design standards, maintain, develop, and troubleshoot our main website and all HPS campus sites.
Collaborate with teammates, senior management and campus staff to ensure a high-quality web experience.
Optimize our web presence, efficiently hitting all deadlines, adhering to high standards of web development.
Proactively scope and present new ideas to improve our website experience for prospects, leads, and customers.
Manage both on-page SEO and off-page SEO for the company.
Collaborate with district and campus staff to create high-quality content around important, relevant terms.
Manage and improve organic search engine performance and goal-setting.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and changes with SEO and major search engines.
Participate in image/identity strategy, and planning in collaboration with the PR team to ensure strategic objectives are consistently being realized.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
Ability to analyze data
Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite to create visual and written content, sometimes on very tight deadlines.
Ability to multitask and prioritize.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Proficiency in web analytics software and keyword tools
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting.
Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
Moderate travel is required.
