Multiple Openings. Software Engineer III (Operational Engineering/ CastleGate Software) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA. Build and maintain highly scalable systems for the CastleGate platform to process data for order fulfillment, inventory management and invoicing; perform design and full stack development to create reusable application components; interface with product managers and stakeholders to create applications that meet business needs; develop technical stack using PHP or Java, jQuery, JavaScript, AJAX, and SQL Server; and perform code reviews and mentor junior team members.  Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years' experience performing SQL and PHP  design and development to create scalable back-end applications or, alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five years' experience performing SQL and PHP design and development to create scalable back-end applications. One year of experience must include: Performing web development using PHP or Java, JavaScript, and SQL, and developing web applications to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility; Performing scripting using Python and Shell scripting, and performing version control using GIT and SVN; Performing design and development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create scalable applications, and designing back-end applications using PHP or Java, HTML and JavaScript; Employing engineering and optimization best practices regarding frontend web standards, code maintainability, page rendering, and browser performance; Defining test plans and performing unit testing; Performing SQL database development including designing, queries, triggers and stored procedures, performance tuning, and performing data ETL; Utilizing Jenkins and Puppet to deploy application code into server environments; Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design; Performing full-stack web programming using PHP or Java, JavaScript, JQuery, Mustache and Handlebars; and Utilizing Kibana, Graphite and Grafana to monitor Warehouse Management and Fulfillment systems.
