Job Description

Multiple Openings. Software Engineer III (Storefront Engineering/ Catalog Purchasability) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA. Design and develop software using PHP .Net and SQL to streamline purchasability; maintain software and systems for large product catalog and support bulk-loads and XML data updates from suppliers; utilize web-based and native Windows tools; understand techniques for working with limited Network connectivity in an occasionally connected environment; compliment the architecture and design of the software to support overseas offshore use; mentor team of Purchasability Engineers; and scope, design, and oversee team projects. Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years' experience performing database and application design and development or, alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, and five years' experience performing database and application design and development. One year of experience must include: Performing design and development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create scalable applications; Designing back-end applications using C# .NET and PHP; Performing service oriented architecture design including building queue-based applications in .NET or similar language; Performing SQL database development including designing RDBMS, queries, triggers and stored procedures and performing data ETL in MSSQL and MySQL environments; Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design; Utilizing Jenkins, Octopus, and Puppet to deploy application code into server environments; Scripting using Transact SQL and PowerShell and performance tuning in MSSQL and MySQL environments; Utilizing advanced Excel, including manipulating data sets and performing regression functions for data analysis; Performing relational database design and conceptualization; and Performing version control using GIT or SVN.
