Multiple Openings. Software Engineer III (Operational Engineering/Delivery Experience) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA. Lead maintenance and improvement of SMS platform for customer notifications; provide continuous process improvement support; design full-stack web applications including front-end and back-end applications; develop large systems in support of delivery experience; perform SQL database design, development and performance optimization; work with multiple business stakeholders and other engineering teams to create next-generation delivery experience features; engage in high-level application architecture discussions; perform code reviews and train and mentor junior engineers. Requires a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years' experience performing front-end and back-end design and development using JavaScript, PHP and SQL or, alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five years' experience performing front-end and back-end design and development using JavaScript, PHP and SQL. One year of experience must include: Performing web development using PHP, JavaScript and SQL; Performing version control using GIT and SVN; Performing design and development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create scalable applications; Designing back-end applications using PHP, HTML or JavaScript; Employing engineering and optimization best practices regarding frontend web standards, code maintainability, page rendering, and browser performance; Developing web applications to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility; Utilizing Jenkins and Puppet to deploy application code into server environments; Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design; Performing SQL database development including designing RDBMS, queries, triggers and stored procedures, and relational database design and conceptualization; and Scripting using Transact SQL and PowerShell.
