Primary Responsibility:

This senior role supports and develops information systems that are innovative, cost-effective student healthcare solutions to the Higher Education Community. This individual will work to add functionality to new projects as well as to provide support for existing product lines as needed.

Essential Job Functions/Skills:

• Planning and developing projects of various scale, form, and duration
• Utilize eye for detail and obsession for clean, well composed code to build out a range of projects from dynamic websites
• Client-focused and able to interact directly with various higher ed (i.e. colleges and universities) customers
• Improve back office systems and processes
• Provide insightful reporting and analysis
• Automate tedious manual processes
• Work collaboratively with each department/peers to assess project plans for feasibility, while providing input from a technology perspective
• Create efficient, scalable and manageable enterprise-level systems using open source technologies
• Other projects as directed by the Director of Information Technology

Education/Experience Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent education
• Experienced Developer with a minimum of 4-5 years' experience with PHP, SQL, Linux, Apache Server, server administration, and hardware experience
• Familiarity with APIs, web services, JQuery, web design and database design

• Passion for technology; ability to stay ahead of the curve with new and emerging technologies and use this knowledge to make recommendations to customize solutions for the company and its customers
• Ability to learn independently; 'get up to speed' quickly
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently and within a small team
• History of successful schedule and budget management
• Solid trouble shooting, bug tracking, and quality assurance methodologies
• Understanding of/experience with unit testing and source code control
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills are required; ability to conduct and/or prepare for client meetings

Bonus Skills:

• Extra attention will be given to individuals with HTML5, Linux, JavaScript, MS SQL Server, XML and JQuery experience
• Program and Project Management skills a plus
