The Web Developer III:



Works individually or in conjunction with the team to produce and maintain high qualify web and mobile applications for the College of Engineering and Computer by using programming languages and tools. Responsible for designing and developing user interfaces for internet/intranet applications for the College and its Departments, Centers, and Labs. Develop applications to automate manual tasks, consistently monitor and maintain website security, and contributes to institutional and team goals. Assist with digital communication and marketing related activities including college e-newsletters, digital and social media campaigns. Train faculty and staff in the use of content management systems.



  • Design, implement, and manage all digital media technologies including web production services, graphic processing, graphic simulation, and video processing and other related digital media publishing components.

  • Recommend new and improved policies/procedures required for effective and more efficient administration of Engineering Information Center resources.

  • Keep abreast of current digital practices, web security solutions, pedagogy, the use of web content management systems, and advances in computer technology.

  • Conducts and assists in organizing hands-on training for faculty, staff, and students on the use of online content development.

  • Communicates relevant advances in web techniques, languages, and technology to faculty and staff.

  • Works cooperatively with marketing and communications staff, internal technology and outside vendors/partners as appropriate.



  • Works with senior administration to assess and recommend employing new trends in digital technology and adopt strategies that are in concert with the university's strategic plan.



Minimum Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Studies or other technical discipline and five (5) years related experience and training, OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.



Departmental Requirements



At least two (2) years of working experience with WordPress CMS (or similar CMS systems).



Knowledge of integrating third party applications with web and mobile platforms.



Must have a customer service orientation, dealing tactfully with all members of the University community.


Google Analytics and SEO experience



Ability to build and migrate applications from development to production environments.



Demonstrated ability to develop accurate information, troubleshoot and monitor all work for accuracy.


Must be able to discover, implement, and integrate open source solutions quickly and effectively.



Ability and willingness to communicate effectively with, relate to, and work within, a diverse faculty, staff and student community.



Ability to quickly familiarize with brand goals, integrate style into design, and deliver projects on time.



Desired Qualifications:



Knowledge of CRM systems
Payment gateway integration experience
Knowledge of PHP / XHTML / CSS / CSS3 / MySQL / MSSQL / XML / JAVASCRIPT / JQUERY / HTML5
Knowledge of Apache & Tomcat server management, module installations, & server optimization
Knowledge of social and digital media platforms.



Advertised Salary:


$55,000 - $65,000

Begin time: 8:30 AM


End time: 5:00 PM
