The PHP Developer will be focused on designing and developing enhancements to the current features of our clients PHP back-end code that supports several websites. They will also provide PHP development support to resolve reported issues and problems.
Primary Responsibilities:Work with project stakeholders to define feature enhancement requirementsCreate technical designs for application features and associated documentationProvide reliable time estimates for development effortsDevelop high-quality PHP codePerform unit testing on developed PHP codeParticipate in application development and support process improvement initiativesInvestigate and resolve reported issues and problems with PHP code
Qualifications:Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorshipBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent5+ years of PHP programming experience working with complex back-end server-side scripting applications including PHP version 5.5Strong experience with MariaDB database management systemMust have a strong ability to analyze and understand the existing code baseExperience working with the Linux operating system (preferably Ubuntu Linux)Experience working with GIT/SVN for source code controlExperience with MVC frameworkExperience working in an agile development environment (DevOps experience a plus)Ability to technically document software deliverable through use cases, design documents and technical specifications.Motivated to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects.Oral Communication - Able to speak clearly and effectively while interacting with others in a courteous, professional and effective mannerWritten Communication - Able to communicate effectively in all written work, utilizing proper grammar, spelling, and punctuationTime Management - Able to use time effectively in an unsupervised fashion, pursuing other activities when regular duties have reduced volume; able to complete projects in a timely mannerPlanning/Organizing skills - Able to prioritize work activities, use time efficiently and work through large projects in a self-motivated mannerProblem solving skills - Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully; able to apply independent judgement on regular basis in making decisions
