Multiple Openings. Software Engineer II (Operational Engineering/Enterprise Engineering) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA to Design and develop enhanced self- service features via web pages, web services, and component development for a wide variety of internal customers and stakeholders; integrate Wayfair and third party systems; address problems of scale for global audience that requires highly performant, reliable, and fault tolerant systems; communicate effectively with Product Management to deliver quality solutions for customers; perform large systems design and development with Object Oriented languages including PHP, C++, C#, or Java; perform performance optimization using T-SQL; contribute to architectural and code review discussions; and utilize Web technology stack including HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and REST. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years of experience performing PHP, HTML, CSS, and SQL design and development. One year of experience must include: Performing full-stack web development using PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, Mustache, Handlebars, and SQL; Performing scripting using Python and Shell scripting; Performing version control using GIT or SVN; Performing design and development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create scalable applications; Designing back-end applications using PHP, HTML, or JavaScript; Employing engineering and optimization best practices regarding frontend web standards, code maintainability, page rendering, and browser performance; Developing web applications to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility; Performing SQL database development including designing queries, triggers and stored procedures, performance tuning, and performing data ETL; Utilizing Jenkins and Puppet to deploy application code into server environments; and interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design.
