DescriptionThe Full-stack Web Developer position offers the opportunity to build on your past web design and development experience to help us create stunning digital marketing experiences that drive sales leads and customer engagement.ilands Full-stack Web Developer is responsible for both backend and frontend development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins and turning online dreams into realities on the iland website.Technically, this person must have proven experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP across multiple browsers. Professionally, this person has a track record of completing projects independently, is driven to execute, seeks advice and direction from team members when needed, and plows ahead to completion when the path forward is clear.This is a full-time position based in our Houston, TX headquarters and reporting to our Creative Director.All applicants should include a link to their portfolio of websites they've built.***Responsibilities Design and implement new features and functionality for the iland website Work within a production team to develop and maintain custom WordPress sites Establish and guide the websites architecture Collaborate closely with the immediate design team, the broader marketing team, and the iland Executive team to build and improve our web presence Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs Create HTML/CSS web pages on our WordPress/Pardot platform, with an eye towards visual appeal, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design in mind Ensure proper WordPress integration of backend systems such as Pardot, Salesforce, and others Maintain and upgrade our WordPress environment, as needed Perform regular site/link maintenance checks and update content Perform database development, technical programming, website design and daily operations Develop, test and debug using WordPress, CSS, PHP, MySQL, HTML and JavaScript Front-end development of WordPress site leveraging JavaScript frameworks Back-end development of WordPress site to create and customize PHP themes/plugins Develop and update technical documentation Remain up-to-speed on the latest technologies as well as industry trends and approaches, and propose ways to experiment with them on the iland website Requirements Expert at designing and developing responsive websites Proficiency in writing scalable HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP 4+ years professional development experience with Wordpress 4+ years professional development experience with JavaScript frameworks (like AngularJs, Node.js, GruntJS and Sass) Strong problem-solving abilities Works well in a team environment and individually Ability and willingness to collaborate and work closely with designers, executives and Creative Director Solid coding practices including design, unit testing, and peer code-reviews High sense of quality and polish Adhere to companys creative vision and brand standards Excellent understanding of best practice website implementation and technology Experience working in Photoshop and Illustrator Experience troubleshooting of CSS and HTML issues with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc. Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages Excellent understanding of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML) Excellent understanding of code versioning tools such as Git Excellent understanding of back-end development Benefits Competitive Salary Bonus Plan 401k Plan with Company Match Stock Plan PPO Healthcare Insurance Plan Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Short-Term Disability Insurance Long-Term Disability Insurance Paid Vacation & Holidays About Ilandiland has been in business for over 20 years and is an industry leader in the areas of Secure Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), Secure Cloud Backup (BaaS), and Secure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
