Job DescriptionWe are looking for a high-caliber full stack developer to become a core team member, but we're open to part-time for the right candidate (we may bring on more than one developer). Eastern or Central time zones are often preferred, but other timezones will be considered, as well as folks who are willing to adjust their working schedules to ours (CDT, 9am-5pm). You can work from anywhere -- we're a lifestyle-conscious company yet expect you to take responsibility for your work and make a commitment to being reliable. Most roles will comprise about 60% project work and 40% support & maintenance, as we create living, breathing web presences -- if you expect to be building web projects from the ground-up every working hour, then this may not be the position for you. If you have knowledge in specific-yet-relevant technologies such as Solr, performance optimization, AWS/cloud, JS frameworks, Node.js, etc, please call them out if not in your resume, along with any additional talents such as UX, design, sysadmin or project management. You would report to our CTO, who reports to our CEO. Our CEO is a software engineer and hard-core Drupal developer by trade -- that has many advantages to you, because he understands what you go through during your work day. He built a technical team, infrastructure, culture and company foundation to promote best practices, top-notch talent and a team that isn't going to ask "can't you just [insert technical objective here]". We get what you do. The great majority of people who work with us very much enjoy doing so, provided that they (1) are who they say they are, (2) can communicate well and read/follow directions closely, and (3) be autonomous and self-directed workers who don't need a lot of hand-holding. We like to go to conferences like DrupalCon and have a yearly reunion in Minneapolis, so while we are a distributed company we do like to connect in-person whenever we can to enjoy each other's company.QualificationsFirst and foremost you must be reliable, honest, and an autonomous worker / self-starter. You should be able to read and follow directions, and be a good communicator. You should be able to work well in a team, and be able to stay focused and dedicated in a remote/distributed team format. You may have been the top dog at your current company, but we expect you to learn and take direction from our team members, who may have an elevated level of experience, at least in the context of our company and the way we do things.Secondly, both back-end and front-end developers should be proficient in these skills: Command line, or at least the ability to get your changes through version control on Pantheon. Experience working with git.As a back-end developer, you should be quite proficient in things like these: Custom module dev, PHP skills, good knowledge of the Drupal API. Migrations (or at least a good idea of how they can be done in Drupal) Advanced Drupal site-building skills (i.e. Views, Panels / Display Suite, etc).If you do front-end development, you should be quite proficient in things like these: Picture-perfect responsive CSS from mockups Slicing and dicing with Photoshop Enough jQuery and JS to be dangerous. Even more experience desirable. Advanced Drupal site-building skills (i.e. Views, Panels, etc). Enough PHP skills to modify a template. Even more experience desirable. You should be able to modify the actual page structure to correspond to the mockup in the majority of cases. NOTE: If you're good at CSS but can't modify the Drupal page structure and need the help of someone else to do so, then this position is not for you.Additional InformationWe are open to part-time candidates, although this particular position is targeting either a direct-hire or contract-to-hire, full-time position with a company-matched 401K and other standard benefits (if salaried, we include vacation and sick time, otherwise if W-2 hourly / part-time you still get a 401K and can take flexible time off).We will respond to the best candidates via email, then screen via a Skype/phone interview, then our project manager will put you on a few small trial tasks first to make sure you're ready to rock and roll.Send us a quick note or cover letter and credentials (resume / LinkedIn / etc) as well as hourly rate(s) and/or salary range(s) that you're willing to consider.**NOTE: Personal emails or phone calls to anyone at the company will be ignored.**
