As a Senior PHP Developer, your essential job functions will include the following:

  • Integration and implementation of information technology components to meet the needs of the organization. 
  • Collaborate with peers, department heads and subject matter experts to develop and maintain the organization's desired future state code and systems
  • Drive simplification across computing environments to reduce costs and improve performance and availability of server, network and end-user computing systems, SEO values and PCI compliance.
  • Identify and champion the introduction of new methods, approaches, and technologies that will bring significant value to the organization.
  • Always incorporate methods to maintain high system and infrastructure availability.
  • Vendor and Outsourcing Management

  • Conduct vendor evaluations prior to selection for products and/or services.  Advise on vendor contracts in the best interest of SimpleTire.
  • Oversee relationships with outsourcing partners and vendors in conjunction with IT Governance.
  • Hold partners to a high degree of reliability and performance through Service Level Agreements that specify the terms or our relationships.
  • Leadership, Mentoring and Coaching

  • Oversee recruiting, selecting, hiring, developing, goal setting, coaching and reviewing the performance of staff in support of the above responsibilities.
  • Lead, plan, organize, delegate, track and report on select technical staff, as well as external vendors.
  • Facilitate problem solving and collaboration.
  • Use the Talent Management process to develop and mentor each associate.
  • As a member of the Technology senior leadership team, provide both technical and managerial advice, make decisions and provide recommendations for effective and efficient information technology delivery.
  • Required Experience:

  • PHP 7
  • Building apps using a modern framework (Symfony preferred)
  • Prefered Experience:

  • Unit testing
  • OOP/OOD
  • Design patterns
  • PSR-2 coding standards
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in computer science, web development or a related field, relevant work experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an application developer utilizing technologies such as PHP, MySQL, git / github, and Jira.
  • Must be able to work with changing deadlines and aggressive priorities, in a fast-paced high-growth business environment
  • Excellent project management (JIRA), communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience utilizing Agile practices a plus.
