The role:

DISQO is hiring a Lead PHP Engineer to manage a team of Engineers on implementing state of the art technologies; laying the foundation for all future development and scalability. This role reports into the Director of Engineering and will be responsible for DISQO’s main application, Survey Junkie.

Through Survey Junkie, DISQO gathers attitudinal and behavioral data, conducting 1.5 MM+ surveys each month. With hundreds of thousands of users, every update has an immediate impact on our users. Survey Junkie users are based in the U.S., Australia and Canada.

Working closely with Product, this role will be responsible for applying best practices to ensure our users have an amazing in app experience, introduce improved features, reduce cycle time and enable the marketing and sales teams to be more effective.

What you will do:

• Be a part of a highly functional autonomous Agile Team


• Lead technical discussions and guide the team to implement best practices


• Define and measure code quality over time to track improvement


• Ensure not just development, but testing and documentation is also part of the definition of done user stories to enable sprint success


• Build CI tools to enable rapid feedback and deployment and test automation


• Lead design and code reviews

What you bring to the table:

• 6+ years of modern PHP programming on a large custom code base


• Subject matter expertise on PHP development


• Experience with Laravel or Lumen


• Solid knowledge of the Design Patterns


• Experience scaling web apps


• Experience with Linux


• Fluent in English reading/writing/speaking

Nice to haves:

• Experience with building RESTful APIs


• Amazon Web Services (AWS)


• Experience with Containerization, Docker, Kubernetes & Service Mesh


• Experience with CI/CD


• Experience building Analytics/Data Driven applications


• GitLab or similar environment
