Senior PHP Developer


JOB SUMMARY:

The PHP Developer is self-driven and has an understanding of high performance, scalable architectures and technologies. This role is responsible for writing code that is clear and concise for primary applications. In addition, the PHP developer will be analyzing requirements, creating functional specifications, and implementing features from creation.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Development of application logic according to specified requirements
  • Development of unit tests
  • Designing and developing database objects
  • Managing back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the users
  • Ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end
  • Integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application
  • Collaborating with the team on learning solutions to positively impact the business
  • Troubleshooting the cause of bugs and implementing solutions
  • Participating in team meetings, providing input and suggestions
  • Continually looking for ways to improve or optimize technology
  • Determining time estimates to complete tasks
  • Documenting technical specifications
  • Coordinating with designers, administrators, project managers and other programmers
  • Occasionally leading or mentoring other team members


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of related experience
  • 5+ years of PHP experience
  • Ruby experience preferred
  • Experience with Oracle or other enterprise database management systems
  • Experience developing database stored procedures and functions; PL/SQL preferred
  • Experience with MVC frameworks; Symfony preferred
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) preferred
  • Must have a strong understanding of object-oriented principles and design
  • Must have experience with Unix/Linux
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies preferred
