POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced WordPress Front-End Design Developer. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of web and mobile application development, website design and UX, and knowledge of content management systems. 

The ideal candidate will enjoy working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to execute various types of technology and marketing initiatives. You think carefully about the user, the project goals, and how your role helps determine the outcome. You enjoy being part of the creative process and how design translates into accessible and semantic code that performs well on a variety of browsers, devices, and connection speeds. Above all, youre a person with a passion for technology and constant improvement of the user experience. 

Job Functions/Responsibilities:

·        Develop and maintain a custom WordPress application

·        Participate in creative meetings to develop the direction for internal and client focused projects

·        Build UX optimized and engaging web sites, landing pages, display ads, and email templates.

·        Build responsive web and mobile experiences that support business needs

·        Research, recommend, and implement plugins that are supported by business needs

·        Troubleshoot and resolve varying levels of technical issues

·        Manage versioning and deployment of application source code including source control management, branching, tagging, etc.

·        Maintain and develop a variety of custom WordPress applications built using PHP and JavaScript with an eye to continuous improvement

·        Use your coding and problem-solving skills to support web applications in a fast-paced, high-energy agile team environment

·        Performing tests, analyzing the results of changes, and tracking metrics such as #visitors, referrals, conversion rate

·        Working with content management systems (WordPress and Drupal preferred)

·        Be able to quickly adapt to new technologies, frameworks and requirements

·        Must be a conscientious team player with a *can-do* attitude and ability to take ownership of your work quality

Requirements for the Role:

·        BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Marketing, or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience

·        Minimum 3 years experience building and designing for WordPress sites

·        Experience coding PHP, WordPress, HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3

·        Knowledge of plugin installation and development

·        Understanding of caching

·        Experience in front-end development and back-end engineering

·        Experience with one database programming language, such as SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.

·        Knowledge in full lifecycle of application development

·        Familiar with browser compatibility and responsive design (web, tablet, mobile)

·        CMS theme development experience: WordPress

·        Design of user interfaces (UI)

·        Design of user experience (UX)

·        Familiar with cloud-based technology, such as AWS

·        Knowledge of Google Analytics or other website monitoring tools and speed optimization tools

·        Accessibility and technical SEO experience

·        Great attention to detail and strong organization skills within a fast-paced environment

·        A motivated, collaborative, and dependable team player

·        Candidates will work on-site as part of our team - No remote work at this time.
