We are looking for a junior-mid level PHP developer to work as part of the team on our proprietary software that is an end-to-end solution for our business. Our software is a best in class for scheduling, managing and reporting on mid-size to large conferences. The candidate chosen for this position will support the current software through maintenance and software upgrades. Once familiar with Conference Builder, the new developer will work on projects to enhance the efficiency and utility of the software. Job responsibilities include:

  • Design and build customer facing web applications
  • Design and build back-office web applications
  • Perform web application deployments
  • Maintain code repositories
  • Confer with management and/or development teams to prioritize needs, resolve conflicts, develop content criteria, or choose solutions
  • Identify problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback, and correct problems or refer problems to appropriate personnel for correction
  • Evaluate code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with desktop browsers and mobile browsers
  • Perform quality assurance and testing
  • Maintain understanding of current web technologies and programming practices through continuing education, reading, and/or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups
  • Analyze and determine technical requirements
  • Provide in-house support to employees using our systems Minimal technical requirements:*
  • PHP5 / PHP 7
  • Symfony Framework(with all related bundles: Doctrine ORM, Twig templating, etc.)
  • MySQL / MongoDB
  • Apache Web Server
  • HTML5/CSS3/JQuery
  • Git
  • Linux and basic bash scripting skills
  • NetBeans IDE (or Eclipse IDE if preferred) Beneficial but not required:*
  • Amazon AWS (Specifically EC2, SES, SNS, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy)
  • Experience in working with 3rdParty APIs and Web Services
  • More than average understanding of Linux server administration
  • More than average understanding of network routing and all related internet protocols
  • Intricate knowledge of Symfony Framework since version 2.8 and up, including differences between versions 2.x, 3.x, and 4.x
  • Apache Server + PHP-FPM monitoring and performance tuning If applicable, please provide access to public GitHub repositories (or is a GitHub contributor to 3rdparty open-source projects) for review. Required work authorization status:

Salary: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 /year + bonus + benefits
