ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Your role as a Senior PHP Developer is to work within an Agile development team to design, test and implement scalable, testable & performant solutions with a collaborative, innovative and customer-focused mindset while being empowered by management to deliver on your team objectives.

RESPONSBILITIES

• Write code and tests according to agreed upon team standards.
• Review code changes and implementations while adhering to security and design standards.
• Take ownership of for your product end-to-end
• Contribute to feature design by collaborating with Product Manager, UX/UI designers and your team members.
• Adopt best DevOps practices (Continuous Integration, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, etc.) supported by our SRE team.
• Help prioritise technical tasks with your team.
• Take ownership of your team’s objectives and contribute to the team roadmap.
• Contribute to adopting an Agile mindset within your team and focussing on delivering customer value.
• Continuously participate with knowledge sharing and discussions within various technical guilds.
• Actively learn new skills, languages, technologies and methodologies to hone you and your team's skill sets.

REQUIREMENTS

• A customer-centric focus, ensuring that the customer experience is kept in mind at all times.
• Honed skill-set in “Backend” software development, with prior experience with scalable/performant code.
• Some experience or interest in Frontend technologies beneficial.
• Ability to help design an optimal solution to a technical problem via Software Architecture.
• Prior experience with unit, functional and behavioural testing, ensuring high quality.
• Previous experience working with Symfony & Doctrine PHP frameworks.
• Substantial knowledge surrounding MySQL, Linux, REST API’s and debugging.
• A willingness to learn and to grow both yourself and your team's’ technical abilities.
