Berkeley Lab’s National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) has an opening for a Software Engineer. This role will enable the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science researchers and the broader science community to benefit from improvements to HDF5 and other leading high-performance computing (HPC) storage and I/O software, developed on one of the world’s largest supercomputers. You will gain experience with cutting-edge storage technologies, such as scalable object file systems, burst buffers, and superfacility I/O, operate at extreme-scales and work in a collaborative environment with scientists and engineers from a wide variety of backgrounds.

You will be part of a NERSC’s Data and Analytics Services group that supports experimental science and advanced analytics. You will also be part of multidisciplinary and cross-institution projects, involving academic and industry partners and renowned academics both in domain sciences as well as in storage and I/O.
