Software Developer
Technology – Toronto, ON


This is a full time permanent position available in our Toronto Head Office.


Purpose of the role
This position is mainly responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and support of various existing and future front-end and backend systems.


You will be accountable for



  • Reviewing and understanding business requirements, functional and technical specifications

  • Developing and constantly updating comprehensive functional, integration, performance and regression test plans

  • Utilizing various system utilities, networking, and verification tools to diagnose and enhance system performance

  • Ensuring all code is written, tested and integrated with the rest of the product code base and version control system

  • Designing new modules, enhancing and maintaining existing code

  • Architecting and coding cloud based transaction processing products

  • Enterprise level merchant support and helping with troubleshooting operational data issues.

  • Researching industry trends and best practices, and recommending which approaches will benefit the company

  • Responsible for participating in the development of user manuals where applicable


Your experience includes



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in development

  • Proficiency in a wide variety of web-centric & mobile development and scripting languages Knowledge in the Secure Coding Practices to mitigate the OWASP top 10 security risks considered an asset

  • Knowledge in Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) and Payment Application Data Security Standards (PA-DSS) are an asset

  • Highly proficient in PHP, Linux, JavaScript , HTML , CSS

  • Experience using C/C++, Swift, Java, Apache and MS-SQL are a big asset

  • Knowledge of ISO8583 based messaging protocols or Experience working with host security modules are assets

  • SVN experience; Inter-process communication on Linux systems; SPDH protocol; VISA/MC/AMEX or other host connectivity experience are all assets
