We are looking for a well-rounded Senior PHP Developer to work our Centah Inc. line of business. Centah is a collaborative, web-based work flow management solution that connects and empowers clients in the home services industry. In this role, you will be working closely with the Centah team located in Vaughn, Ontario.


The ideal candidate is familiar with the growing technology landscape and desires to contribute in a fast-paced, web-oriented environment. This position requires a strong analytical sense combined with a dynamic, creative approach. Ideally, you also have experience with some of the following tools: PHP 5, SQL Databases, XML, CSS, JavaScript. Responsibilities



  • Create and maintain PHP driven modules while maintaining security & performance standards

  • Analyze the performance of PHP framework, identifying and resolving bottlenecks

  • Write relational database schema and queries. Analyze and optimize SQL requests

  • Client side development using JavaScript (jQuery / ExtJS) and CSS

  • Monitor the bug tracking system for incoming issues and resolve them in a timely fashion

  • Contribute to the wiki for new and enhanced functionality

  • Reports to the Team Lead


Requirements



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Engineering preferred

  • 5+ years’ experience developing web applications using PHP 5, SQL Databases, XML, CSS, JavaScript

  • Strong Experience with Object Oriented programming using PHP 5

  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.

  • Extensive experience with client side development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and familiarity with cross-browser and mobile-web design

  • Working knowledge of a LAMP/LAPP stack

  • Knowledge of jQuery is an asset

  • Familiarity with code management systems such as Git and CVS

  • Ability to understand and implement business needs

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines

  • Organized, articulate, detail-oriented and comfortable working within a team structure.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
