CliniComp, Intl. is looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer with excellent communication skills and an aptitude for detail to create and manage BI and analytics solutions. In this role you will develop and maintain business intelligence solutions, craft and execute queries upon request for data, and present information through reports and visualizations to support our Systems Operations Department. You should have a strong background in programming, developing and coding. If you also have experience with design and implementation of SharePoint, we’d like to meet you!

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Translate business needs to technical specifications.

  • Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools).

  • Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. MicroStrategy).

  • Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes).

  • Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.

  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.

  • Collaborate with teams to integrate systems.

  • Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses.

  • Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.

  • Develop and update technical documentation.


Requirements


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.

  • Knowledge in programming languages: PHP, MySQL

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining.

  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.

  • Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

  • Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI).

  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD ADP clearance and a VA High Risk Background clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master’s Degree in Business, Computer Science or related technical field.

  • Industry experience is preferred.


Security Clearance: The start of the security clearance process is up to the discretion of the company and may begin no later than the successful completion of the first 90 days of employment, and commensurate with job requirements and the needs of the business. Successful completion of the security clearance process may not be required for every position but all candidates must be willing to submit to the process if requested by their manager according to the requirements of the position and business needs.

Work Environment: Based in the San Diego office, this job operates in an open professional office environment and uses standard office equipment. Low to moderate noise level.


Physical Demands: Ability to sit for long periods of time; manual dexterity to operate equipment; vision requirements include ability to adjust focus, depth perception, peripheral vision, distance vision and close vision; ability to hear, speak, read, stand, walk, stoop, squat, reach to or below shoulder level, lift, carry, push, pull, and use hands and fingers to handle, feel and grip; lift/carry up to 20 pounds. Occasionally hours may be long, early, late or include the weekend.


Travel: Requires up to 10% of travel. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
