General Description:

The primary responsibilities of this role are to design, develop, and maintain a new Progressive Web Application (PWA) frontend for a large Magento e-commerce platform. This position will also be expected to be able to design, develop, and maintain parts of the backend that interact with the web frontend, as well as other various web applications. This position will involve working on a team of 5, reporting directly to the Director of Technology, and will have a voice in picking technical strategy and architecture direction.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop a new Progressive Web Application (PWA) frontend using ReactJS, HTML5, and CSS for a Magento e-commerce storefront.

• Build and maintain RESTful AJAX API endpoints in PHP to provide functionality to the web frontend.

• Develop Magento backend module / API code using PHP and MySQL.

• Participate in a single weekly team meeting to pick weekly goals.

• Perform self-directed activities to support completion of individual and team goals.

Work Experience and Abilities:

• 2+ years of professional experience ReactJS JavaScript website development.

• 5+ years of experience developing with PHP and MySQL.

• 5+ years of experience developing with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, HTML, AJAX, and CSS.

• Experience building web applications that leverage (e.g. RESTful) APIs.

• Knowledge of security and web architecture best practices.

• Experience working within a development workflow (development, staging, and production), and using the GIT revision repository system to collaborate with others on code maintenance.

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in CS, Information Technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of skills, training and experience.
