Required Qualifications:



- Experience in web application development


- Experience using MERN /MEAN stack


- Experience building complex web applications


- Experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing


- Familiarity with relational and non-relational database design and implementation


- Familiarity with the Model-View-Controller pattern


- Good organizational and problem-solving skills


- Strong oral and written communication skills


- Strong working knowledge of source code versioning systems (especially Git)


- Ability to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship



Preferred Qualifications:



- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/STEM or equivalent work experience


- 4+ years of experience in web application development


- 2+ years of experience using MERN /MEAN stack


- 2+ years building complex web applications


- 2+ year(s) experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing


- Experience with jQuery, REST , PHP , CSS 2/3, Ajax, JSON


- Work experience with HTML5, JavaScript, Python, XHTML , and XML


- Knowledge or experience with Agile Development


- Knowledge of unit testing frameworks


- Familiarity with PHP frameworks, e.g. CakePHP, Laravel


- Experience in mobile application development


- Experience with agile development methodologies desired, including continuous integration.


- Knowledge of LAMP (Linux, Apache/NGINX , MySQL, PHP ) development stack

Overview:


We are looking for a strong full stack developer to migrate our existing projects into newer, proven technologies, as well as develop new projects in the future.



About Us:


The ALERRT Program at Texas State University is a primarily grant-funded, research-based training program for first responders across the US and world.



About You:


We're looking for someone that is motivated to help ALERRT and our mission by becoming a new member of our team.



Job Duties:



Update existing application to current technologies.


Advise on current and upcoming technologies, methodologies, best practices, and IT strategies.


Develop, test, and maintain ALERRT websites and projects.


Take professional development courses, keep up to date with trends and available technologies in the field, complete work projects using new languages and/or frameworks, create side projects specifically to explore new techniques.


Assisting with yearly conference.


Travel for conferences and training, as needed.


Other duties as required.
