We are looking for a System Administrator (f/m/d) to manage both our on- and offsite IT. You diagnose and resolve problems quickly, automate where it makes sense, monitor what is needed and stay on top of things at all times. You are patient to communicate and helpful with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal is to ensure our infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.


 Your Role:



  • Server setup, configuration, maintenance and monitoring (Debian Linux)

  • Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure

  • Troubleshoot issues and outages

  • Setup and configuration of software, accounts and workstations

  • Working closely alongside our software developers

  • Be available, in turns, in the evenings and weekends in case of emergencies (as part of our on-call duty team)


Your Background:



  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role

  • Experience with networks (WiFi, LAN, WAN) and patch management

  • Familiar with various operating systems and platforms including Debian Linux

  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery

  • Database management (MySQL, Elasticsearch)

  • Knowledge and experience in the most common big data projects (Kafka, Redis, Hadoop, Druid, Elastic etc.)

  • Ability to create scripts in Bash, PHP and Python, Perl or other language

  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving attitude

  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English, preferably in German as well.

  • B.Sc./B.A. in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field; professional certification is a plus
