Full Stack Web Developer - Help us build the future of mobility

hiyacar

London, UK | Posted: 5 years ago

This job is expired and may no longer be accepting applications.

At hiyacar we know our cities are full of unused, parked cars. We have to be smarter about cars and transport. We need fewer cars, but used more efficiently. We need a new model of car access over car ownership. We have to rethink how cars work for communities and how to make communities fairer for all. Cars depreciate and lose money; they are liabilities not assets. Sharing cars transforms cars into assets. Sharing cars keeps communities moving. When we share more, everyone wins.

We are looking for a full-stack web developer to join our team and continue the development of our web applications. You will have significant input into the direction of the platform as a whole and will work collaboratively with the hiyacar team to make it a best-in-class product.

We’re growing rapidly and that’s exciting, but hard work and pacey at times. We need you to be up for some hard graft, be able to find creative and speedy solutions and willing to do what it takes to win. You'll need to be super organised and meticulous in your approach, and of course be a star team player.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working closely with our product and design teams to plan and spec great features

  • Build, test and release updates to our Web app and APIs

  • Improve our web front-end, implementing new designs and experiments

  • Build internal tools to streamline our internal processes

  • Engaging with our community of car hirers/owners at events and focus groups

  • Anything else you’re skilled at that can add value to hiyacar

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years of development experience with PHP 7+ and Laravel

  • Excellent front-end skills and knowledge of HTML, CSS & Modern JavaScript

  • Experience with a modern frontend framework such as Vue or React

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Git version control

  • Working with APIs via REST and JSON/XML

  • Experience working in an Agile team

  • Unit testing and continuous integration

  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK

  • Experience with design tools such as Zeplin

  • Knowledge of browser and device limitation

  • Experience of cross-browser testing

Additional amazingness (not all required but the amazing part is required):

  • Knowledge or experience of working with mobile apps in Swift and/or Kotlin

  • Experience in analytics and A/B tests

** Please note we are unable to support visa applications so permission to work in the UK is a must **
